Completing Sentence-Rule-7 Gerund, participle, infinitive, would you mind, cannot help

There are several of rules of completing sentence and here in this post I am discussing the rule number 7 on Gerund, participle, infinitive, would you mind, cannot help

Type-A: Gerund-by/without + gerund,

  1.            By working hard, we can get the success.
  2.            Without working hard, we can’t get A+.
  3.             Walk quick or you will miss the bus.
  4.            Walk quickly and you can catch the bus.
  5.            By going to market, you can buy something.
  6.           Going there, I didn’t find her.

Note– Gerund-adding ing with the principal verb acts as verb and noun Present/Past tense এর  sentence  হবে ।

Type-B: Participle

Present participle:

  1.             I saw a flying bird in the sky.
  2.             A rolling stone gathers no moss.

Note-Present participle-adding ing with the principal verb acts as verb and adjective

Past participle:

  1.              The dramas written by Humayun Ahmed are interesting.
  2.              The book published in 2000 has been revised by the writer

Note-Past participle-adding ed, t, ne, en with the principal verb acts as verb and adjective

Perfect participle:

  1.            Having finished the works, they went out.
  2.     The sun having set, they returned home.
  3.     The sun having risen, they rose from sleep.

Note-Perfect participle-Adding having with the past participle form with the principal verb acts as verb and adjective

 

Type-C: Infinitive

  1.             To walk in the morning is a good exercise.
  2.             It is a great sin to tell a lie.
  3.            We eat to live
  4.              To write more and more is a way of making good handwriting.
  5.              We read read newspaper to know the information.

Note: Principal verb  এর পূর্বে  to যুক্ত থাকলে সেটিই  infinitive.

 

Type-D: Instead of/ in lieu of

  1.              Instead of history, I took biology
  2.             I have eaten fish in lieu of meat.

Type-E: Would you mind

  1.        Would you mind taking a cup of tea?
  2.       Would you mind giving me the pen?
  3.       Would you mind opening the window?
  4.      Would you mind reading this book?
  5.      Would you mind dancing with me?

Note: Would you mind  এর পর principal verb  এর সাথে  ing যোগ হবে ।

 

Type-F: can not but/can not help

  1. I cannot but  laugh at his words    
  2.             I cannot help laughing at his words     
  3.            I cannot but go there.
  4.            I cannot help going there.

Note: আমি এটা না করে পারলাম না এই ধরনের ইংরেজী sentence এর structure হলো cannot but/cannot help. তবে Cannot but  এরপর principal verb  এর শুধু present form হবে এবং cannot help এরপর principal verb  এর সাথে ing যোগ হবে    

Type-G: Use of how to/in order to

  1. I know how to dance.
  2. I know how to sleep.
  3. I know how to talk.
  4. I know how to run.
  5. I know how to fight.
  6. I know how to wash cloth.
  7. I know how to read a book.
  8. I know how to go school.
  9. I know how to ride horse.
  10. Sami knows how to drive.
  11. I know how to cook.
  12. You know how to dance.
  13. I know how to play cricket.
  14. Mohona knows how to swim.
  15. Rumi knows how to paint.
  16. He knows how to play chess.
  17. We know how to write.
  18. I know how to compose.
  19. I know how to make a cake.
  20. She knows how to travel.
  21. I know how to work.
  22. They know how to play.
  23. We know how to pray.
  24. He knows how to eat properly.
  25. I know how to swim.
  26. Do you know how to work?
  27. We know how to drink tea.
  28. I know how to play song.
  29. They know how to dance.
  30. I know how to make a cup of tea.
  31. I know how to read.
  32. We know how to walk.
  33. I know how to swim.
  34. I know how to cook.
  35. I know how to drive.
  36. I know how to write.
  37. We know how to play.
  38. You know how to swim
  39. We know how to read.
  40. I know how to sing a song.
  41. I know how to run.
  42. We know how to eat.
  43. I know how to manage it.
  44. You know how to swim.
  45. I know how to write.

  47. He knows how to sing a song.
  48. She knows how to play badminton.
  49. They know how to draw.
